Say “Thank You!” - What are you grateful for? Whether it is as big as your freedom of choice or as small as the wonder of bees making honey, if you live from a place of abundance, gratitude and love, you will attract just that… abundance, gratitude and love! Start a gratitude journal today and write daily at least five things that you are grateful for.
Holiday Journal Notebook - When you purchase your beautiful Gratitude Journal, consider buying a second, so you can keep all your holiday lists organized in one place. Post-its are great, but not for keeping track of your life and your sanity during the holiday season.
Plan Ahead… Budget Early, Buy Early - With your Holiday Journal Notebook in hand, get a head-start on organization and create or update your holiday lists early…. (address, gift, online shopping, Costco, groceries and anything else you can think of). Be prepared, stick to your list, and resist impulse buying. Your budget and your bank account will thank you!
Do Something Special (and expect nothing in return) – In the Jewish religion, this is called a Mitzvah. Giving of yourself during the holiday season is one of the surest ways to eliminate stress and attract more joy into your life.
Reduce Clutter – Envision the possibilities that clearing clutter would attract. Tackle clutter a little bit at a time… consider each item, and ask yourself: Is it genuinely useful? Does it lift my energy? Do I absolutely love it? And, if you haven’t used it since last Christmas, you know what to do! I would love to hear what you attract into your life when your space is cleared!
Your Personal Holiday Wardrobe - Be ready for all your holiday events, even the unexpected. Be sure your best holiday clothes and accessories are clean and ready to be worn, even undergarments. And ladies, check that your hair accessories and make-up in your favorite holiday shades are fresh enough to brighten your face and smile. And what about adding a little body-glitter to your holiday repertoire!
Cooking For The Holidays? - Plan early for your wonderful kitchen creations. Begin what can be prepared early and frozen; double your recipes and save extra cookie dough for unexpected guests or last-minute gifts or parties. Cook ahead and see how filled up you will feel at the end of the season! (And I don’t mean in the middle!)
Self Care – YOU are the MOST important person in your life! If you are running on empty, you won’t get very far! Begin today with Extreme (daily) Self-Care… exercise, skin care, nutrition, meditation or some quiet time, and personal services, which might even include treating yourself to a massage. Ask for help when you are feeling overwhelmed, and you will discover that sharing the burden will not only keep you more centered, but will help build your relationships.
Eliminate Expectations - Let go of perfection, and it will all be perfect! My favorite definition of an expectation is “a disappointment waiting to happen”. A very wise teacher of mine says… “Set your intention and then let the universe arrange the details.” Trust that it was meant to happen that way and is all “perfect”. “God” and the Universe do not make mistakes.
Say No! - Who are you trying to please by saying “YES!” to parties, people, gift-giving… that you would really like to say “NO!” to? Setting boundaries is part of Extreme Self-Care. Practice saying “NO” so you can stay calm and grounded, and really feel the joy of the season. But if you have an obligation you believe you absolutely must say “YES” to… then say it from your heart… from that place of abundance, gratitude and love. You may just surprise yourself and have a good time!
